Founded in 1966, Meres International School is the only private Asturian centre accredited as an official international school by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization), one of the first in Spain to achieve this.
Our model of academic and educational excellence is aimed at girls and boys from 3 to 18 years old, based on the promotion of critical thinking, self-discipline and teamwork to train multidisciplinary, global and resilient students and people.

Academic Excellence
Average of 11.74 in the EBAU 2024, with 23.67% of students scoring 13 or higher, including the highest mark in Asturias (14). In languages, we surpassed the regional average in English and French by 1.73 points.

Hace un par de semanas visitamos el núcleo zoológico El Rincón de las Aves, en Pravia, y vivimos una experiencia inolvidable rodeados de naturaleza y animales fascinantes.
Durante la excursión, descubrimos especies tan increíbles como el majestuoso pavo real, la simpática cacatúa, la tortuga mediterránea, el impresionante búho real, loros de vivos colores, el gorrión y muchos más animales que nos han encantado. 🦚🐢🦉
Fue una jornada repleta de aprendizaje, curiosidad y, sobre todo, mucha emoción.

🦜🌳 A day full of discoveries for our 2nd-grade Primary students! 🌟
This week, we visited El Rincón de las Aves, a zoological center in Pravia, and had an unforgettable experience surrounded by nature and fascinating animals.
During the trip, we discovered amazing species like the majestic peacock, the friendly cockatoo, the Mediterranean tortoise, the impressive eagle owl, brightly colored parrots, the sparrow, and many more animals that captivated us. 🦚🐢🦉
It was a day filled with learning, curiosity, and, above all, excitement.
We want to thank the Álvarez Arango family, who opened El Rincón de las Aves more than 50 years ago, for teaching us so much and inspiring a love for animals in our little ones! 🐾💚

✨ On Tuesday was a very special day at Colegio Internacional Meres. We awarded language certificates to over 700 students who, through effort and dedication, achieved outstanding levels in English and French.
At Meres, we support our students from their first steps to their final year, certifying their knowledge with official qualifications such as the Cambridge Certificate and DELF. A true source of pride for our educational community!
This achievement reflects not only the hard work of the students but also the constant support of their families and the commitment of our entire teaching team. 💛

🏆✨ El pasado viernes 18 de octubre, el Auditorio de Siero se llenó de emoción durante la entrega de premios de relatos cortos con temática de Asturias. Un concurso en el que participaron 27 colegios y más de 180 relatos presentados el curso pasado, en abril.
La sorpresa y orgullo no pudieron ser mayores: ¡los 6 relatos seleccionados, 3 de la categoría A (5º, 6º de Primaria y 1º de ESO) y 3 de la categoría B (2º, 3º y 4º de ESO), fueron de nuestro colegio! 🙌📚
El evento, presidido por la Concejal de Cultura, Aurora Cienfuegos, contó con la compañía de nuestra profesora María Crespo, quien acompañó a los alumnos y compartió con ellos este momento tan especial. Enhorabuena a todos los participantes y, por supuesto, a los ganadores. 👏🌟

🏆✨ Last Friday, October 18th, the Siero Auditorium was filled with excitement during the awards ceremony for the short story contest themed around Asturias. A competition that welcomed 27 schools and over 180 stories submitted last April.
The surprise and pride couldn’t have been greater: all 6 selected stories—3 from Category A (5th, 6th grade, and 1st year of ESO) and 3 from Category B (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year of ESO)—came from our school! 🙌📚
The event, presided over by the Councilor of Culture, Aurora Cienfuegos, was made even more special by the presence of our teacher María Crespo, who accompanied the students and shared this unforgettable moment with them. Congratulations to all participants and, of course, to the winners! 👏🌟
