Founded in 1966, Meres International School is the only private Asturian centre accredited as an official international school by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization), one of the first in Spain to achieve this.

Academic Excellence
Average of 11.74 in the EBAU 2024, with 23.67% of students scoring 13 or higher, including the highest mark in Asturias (14). In languages, we surpassed the regional average in English and French by 1.73 points.

Hoy nuestros peques han recibido una charla muy especial para contarles qué vamos a vivir este fin de semana y por qué esta carrera es mucho más que ponerse unas zapatillas y llegar a la meta.
Una forma sencilla de acercarles valores como la solidaridad, el compromiso y la importancia de sumar entre todos.

Ocho días para vivir el inglés de verdad. 🇮🇪
Un grupo de alumnos de 5º y 6º de Primaria está disfrutando de una experiencia de inmersión lingüística y cultural en Irlanda.
Durante estos días viven con familias irlandesas, comparten su día a día, practican el idioma en contextos reales y descubren de cerca otra cultura, sus costumbres y su forma de vida.
Les acompañan sus profesores de inglés, Paula, Borja y Lorenzo, que se encuentran con ellos cada día en las actividades de inmersión y les ayudan a vivir esta experiencia con confianza.
Una oportunidad preciosa para seguir desarrollando esa mentalidad internacional tan presente en el programa IB: abrirse al mundo, comunicarse, adaptarse y aprender más allá del aula.
Y, además, con visitas guiadas tan interesantes y días soleados como este. 💛

Eight days to truly live the English language. 🇮🇪
A group of our Year 5 and Year 6 Primary students is enjoying a linguistic and cultural immersion experience in Ireland.
During these days, they are staying with Irish host families, sharing their daily life, practising the language in real contexts and discovering another culture, its customs and way of life up close.
They are accompanied by their English teachers, Paula, Borja and Lorenzo, who meet them every day during the immersion activities and help them experience it with confidence.
A wonderful opportunity to continue developing the international-mindedness that is so present in the IB programme: opening up to the world, communicating, adapting and learning beyond the classroom.
And, on top of that, with such interesting guided visits and sunny days like this one. 💛

Pequeños trazos, grandes aprendizajes ✏️
En Meres, el comienzo de la lectoescritura es un proceso de descubrimiento. Antes de llenar cuadernos, experimentamos, jugamos y practicamos de muchas formas diferentes.
Las pizarras nos permiten iniciarnos en los primeros trazos y letras de una manera dinámica: escribir, borrar, probar de nuevo… y aprender disfrutando del proceso.
Porque cada línea, cada letra y cada pequeño avance nos acerca un poquito más al maravilloso mundo de la lectura y la escritura. 💙
Small marks, big learning ✏️
At Meres, the first steps into reading and writing are all about discovery. Before filling notebooks, our pupils experiment, play and practise in many different ways.
Whiteboards allow them to explore their first strokes and letters in a dynamic way: write, erase, try again… and enjoy the learning process.
Because every line, every letter and every small achievement brings them one step closer to the wonderful world of reading and writing. 💙
Después de meses de trabajo, investigación, preguntas y mucho aprendizaje, nuestros alumnos de 6º compartieron sus proyectos (PYP) con sus familias.
Un momento muy especial en el que pudieron explicar con su propia voz todo lo que han descubierto, cómo lo han trabajado y qué les ha hecho reflexionar durante este proceso.
En este reel escuchamos también a quienes les acompañan desde cerca: una hermana mayor y dos mamás que les animan a seguir investigando, a mantener la curiosidad y a sentirse orgullosos de todo lo que han conseguido.
Porque aprender no es solo llegar a una respuesta. También es hacerse preguntas, mirar el mundo con criterio y atreverse a compartirlo con los demás.
