Founded in 1966, Meres International School is the only private Asturian centre accredited as an official international school by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization), one of the first in Spain to achieve this.
Our model of academic and educational excellence is aimed at girls and boys from 3 to 18 years old, based on the promotion of critical thinking, self-discipline and teamwork to train multidisciplinary, global and resilient students and people.

Academic Excellence
Average of 11.74 in the EBAU 2024, with 23.67% of students scoring 13 or higher, including the highest mark in Asturias (14). In languages, we surpassed the regional average in English and French by 1.73 points.

Hoy hemos celebrado en el colegio nuestra IV Feria de las Universidades, una jornada clave dentro del Proyecto de Orientación del centro. Gracias a todas las universidades y centros participantes por acercar sus programas y resolver dudas de nuestro alumnado, y un agradecimiento muy especial a Laura Rebón y Mafalda Santos, nuestras orientadoras, por la excelente organización y acompañamiento. La semana pasada, un grupo de alumnos de Secundaria disfrutó de un partido de fútbol amistoso antes de las vacaciones de Navidad. Una forma divertida y saludable de cerrar el trimestre, compartiendo risas, compañerismo y mucho movimiento.
En estas fechas de celebraciones, dulces y turrones, el deporte nos recuerda la importancia de cuidarnos, mantener hábitos activos y apostar por el bienestar físico y emocional… sin renunciar a disfrutar de la Navidad 😉

Last week, a group of Secondary students took part in a friendly football match just before the Christmas holidays. A fun and healthy way to end the term, full of teamwork, laughter and energy.
With all the Christmas treats and celebrations, sport reminds us how important it is to stay active and look after our physical and emotional wellbeing… while still enjoying the festive season 😉
Because chasing a football also counts as Christmas spirit. ⚽✨

La semana pasada, nuestros alumnos de 6º de Primaria visitaron el Banco de Alimentos de Asturias, con el que colaboramos de forma habitual.
En estas fechas tan especiales, la experiencia les permitió reflexionar sobre el verdadero significado de la Navidad: ayudar, compartir y pensar en los demás.

Last week, our Year 6 students visited the Banco de Alimentos de Asturias, an organisation we regularly collaborate with.
At this special time of year, the visit helped students reflect on the true meaning of Christmas: caring for others, sharing and showing solidarity.
A meaningful experience that strengthens their sense of empathy and social responsibility. ✨
Over the past month, a debate team from 1º Bachillerato took part in a friendly online debate in English with ELIS Villamartin School (a Cognita school).
It was a very enjoyable and enriching experience in which the teams discussed whether it is positive for companies and universities to use AI systems to select candidates in recruitment processes.
The debate was moderated by several Meres students, who shared very positive feedback at the end of the session.

Durante este último mes, un equipo de debate de 1º de Bachillerato participó en un debate amistoso online en inglés con el colegio ELIS Villamartin (colegio Cognita).
Fue una actividad muy enriquecedora en la que los equipos debatieron sobre si es positivo que las empresas y las universidades utilicen sistemas de inteligencia artificial para seleccionar candidatos en los procesos de selección.
El debate fue moderado por varios alumnos de Meres, quienes compartieron feedback muy positivo al finalizar la actividad.
